β¦ Synopsis
A set of sequential estimator equations has been developed using the invariant imbedding concept. The equations can be used for both the filtering estimation of states of non-linear dynamic systems and the estimation of parameters in kinetics research and other areas, and are of potential in simplifying experimental procedures and reducing the number of necessary experiments for the latter purpose. Results calculated for several cases show that the convergence of the estimated values for states, the stability of those for parameters, and the accuracy are all very good, suggesting that the estimator equations may be expected to be a useful tool in chemical engineering and even in many other fields.

A simple method of two parameters estimation in linear or nonlinear first order differential equation is presented. 7'he procedure consists in reducing the problem to an initial value problem which is solved with speed and accuracy on the computer.
Based on a second order nonlinear model of microbial growth, two distinct problems--state estimation and parameter estimation--are considered. The first case assumes only one state is available from measurement and an asymptotic estimate of the other state is required. The second problem assumes bot
