โฆ Synopsis
The mean output and amplitude of the limit cycle in an oscillating nonlinear system with a small parameter can be. estimated in a simple manner through an integral energy method. The results agree with the tedious PoincarC-Lindstedt and Krylov-Bogoliubov methods and can be applied easily to high order systems for which the latter techniques are not practical. Conditions under which process oscillations lead to a favorable shift in the mean output are obtained early in the analysis and independently of the estimate of the limit cycle amplitude.
