The structure of gymnemagenin, the sapogenin of antisweet principle of G mnema s rvestre +'* -+?iie xwas firmly established as 3B,168,21B,22a,23,28-hexahydroxy-olean-l2-ene y ray ana ysls of the 3B,23;21B,2~~-di-O-isopropylidene derivative. On the basis of this of deacylgymnemic acid was elucidated as the 3-g-B-glucuronide by ZZ$:is~!YZ ~Fr~~~uFfi,_NMR spectra.
