✦ Synopsis
The essential oils of the root bark and fruits of Monanthotaxis diclina (Sprague) Verdcourt and of the roots and fruits of Unonopsis guatterioides R. E. Fries were analysed by GC and GC±MS. The main components (>5% of each oil) were: trans-pinocarveol (22.4%), spathulenol (19.9%) and cedrol (7.1%) from root bark of Monanthotaxis diclina; verbenone (17.5%), caryophyllene oxide (8.9%), b-humulene (8.4%), a-humulene (6.9%) and b-caryophyllene (6.1%) from fruits of Monanthotaxis diclina; d-cadinol (21.6%), terpinen-4-ol (15.7%), caryophyllene oxide (15.3%) and b-humulene (9.1%) from roots of Unonopsis guatterioides; and b-caryophyllene (22.5%), a-pinene (11.7%), caryophyllene oxide (10.4%), a-humulene (6.3%) and b-pinene (5.3%) from fruits of Unonopsis guatterioides. # 1997
