✦ Synopsis

Resonance (ESR) spectra of Eu 2 + in BaS0 4 crystallite were studied. The experimental data were fitted to the standardized spin Hamiltonian and the ligand field Hamiltonian for orthorhombic symmetry, and the anisotropic Lande factors and spin Hamiltonian parameters were obtained. Meanwhile, based on the variation of ESR peak-height versus doping concentration of Eu, it was found that all the doped Eu 2 + ions in BaS0 4 can substitute BaH ions when the doping concentration C is less than 0.4 mol%.
