โฆ Synopsis
ESR line shape measurements of dilute Cu(NO& solutions in liquid ammonia in the temperature range 195-300 "K are reported. The line shape analysis of the four resolved copper hyperfme components indicates that the relaxation mechanisms of the electron spin mainly arise from anisotropic g and hyperfme interaction by tumbling motion and from spin-rotational interaction. A very small linewidth contribution due to unresolved 14N ligand hyperfine structure is discussed in terms of motional narrowing.
