✦ Synopsis

Results from ESR experiments on atomic selenium vapou r in the 3P 2 ground state are given. The observed g-value and hyperf'me constant of the 77Se isotope are 1.49137(4).and 545.7(5) MHz, respectively:

A calculation of g-values•based on the Russell-Saunders coupling scheme and.taking configuration interaction to second order into account, is applied to p2 and p4 eont-warations. The results forSe, Te, Ge and Sn show good a~eement with experiment.
