✦ Synopsis

The energy of 500 keV quoted in our paper [1] for the 8 -isomer in 122 Cs seems to be incorrect. We quoted this value from the 8th edition of the Table of Isotopes (1996). In the 1998 and 1999 updated editions of the Table of Isotopes, however, the adopted value is 76 ± 24 keV that was quoted from Ref. [2]. But, according to a very recent paper [3] the energy of this isomer should be 135 ± 14 keV with the half-life (T 1/2 ) of 3.7 min. This result was obtained from the mass difference measurement between the 8 -isomeric state and the ground state in 122 Cs using the tandem Penning-trap mass spectrometer at ISOLDE by Ames et al. who are the same group in Ref. [2]. So, we quote the 135 ± 14 keV with T 1/2 = 3.7 min instead of 500 keV with T 1/2 = 4.5 min as the excitation energy of the 8 - isomer in 122 Cs. It is noted that the level energies of E i and E f tabulated in Table 1 in [1] should be systematically low by the energy of 365 keV.

The conclusions of the paper are not affected. We are grateful to Dr. Balraj Singh for a useful comment on the energy of the 8 -isomer in 122 Cs.
