✦ Synopsis
The existence of po E (O,p,], ,130 C &, I0 and TO with the properties asserted in (i) and (ii) (including TO(@,Y*) = t* + q ( @ * ( t * , @ ) ) )
now follows exactly as in the case j < 0 above. Assertions (iii) and (iv) are obtained from part b) (ii) of Theorem 1.7 in [L-W3], 0 Set p = min{pj I j E {k-+ 1, ... ,O}}. Then p 5 p, and part (i) of Proposition 5.1 shows that 0 < dist (N6,Cpj + H ( p ) ) for j E {k-+ 1, . . . ,O}, and for all j, k E {k-+ 1, . . . ,0} with j # k, one has 0 < dist (~pj + H(p),cpk + H ( p ) ) .
and property (v) is a consequence of pj E (O,/?j] and Bj C B j .
