β¦ Synopsis
The session wound up with a critical review of "Direct voice input of Data" and its "Information Processing Implications" by J.V.F. Berman (RAF IAM). Predictions made both for the type of interference likely to occur when direct voice input of data is used in conjunction with a psychomotor task such as flying, and for types of secondary task causing the least interference when using speech recognition equipment, were tested experimentally. The implications of the results for optimal use of this technology were discussed.
