near Frankfurt. The facility, which has 12 advanced laboratories, has a workforce of 85. It also has a pilot plant for the development of new catalysis, heterogeneous catalysis, and biocatalysis. The centre embraces the whole value-added chain of catalyst development, bringing together three main catalyst disciplines employed in chemical manufacturing processes. The company has spent some €54.5 M in catalysis since 2001, €9.5 M of which is for the Catalysis Competence Center and another €45 M in the Biotechnology and Catalysis Project Houses.
