The adsorption isotherms were satisfactorily fitted to the Freundlich equation. The equilibrium coverages at 298 K were found to depend closel

Abstract
A new approach to describe the equilibrium kinetics of chemisorption is proposed. The description of the system is based on firstβprinciples chemical reaction kinetics and statistical thermodynamics. The rate constants are described by using a novel way of activation energy characterization. General expressions for equilibrium gas pressure isotherms and forward/backward reaction rates are obtained as a function of surface coverage. A strong influence of attraction and repulsion interaction energies between the adsorbed species on the equilibrium kinetics is found.
