✦ Synopsis

Fission molybdenum-99, obtained as a separated fraction from products of uranium 235 induced fission has been studied to develop a model describing much of its distribution behaviour. The model, Mo02+ + 2SCm 2, aq . 2PyNf*. [MoO,(SCN),.2P,N],, assumes that the extracted species is doubly solvated. The results obtained would be useful for radiochemists engaged in research for the isolation of high activity carrier-free molybdenum-99 from fission products.
