β¦ Synopsis
The Brain-State-in-a-Box Neural model is shown to converge to the hypercube's extreme points under mild assumptions. Absorption at other fixed points of the activity rule is shown to be avoided by a simple randomization. This is possible because, as is shown, the extreme points are the only stable equilibria.

A system model of the primate neocortex is presented, based mainly on the neuroanatomy of the rhesus macaque monkey and consisting of a set of processing modules arranged as a perception-action hierarchy. These modules correspond to regions of the neocortex and their connectivity to that of the neoc
