✦ Synopsis
A six-parameter equation of state is derived from fundamental relationships of thermodynamics. The proposed equation is applied to the prediction of PVT data over the entire experimental range for several gases which are representative of many molecular types including polar, non-polar and strongly associated compounds. A comparison is also given with the Lee-Kessler method. The possibility of correlating both the liquid and the supercritical range with the same set of parameters is shown for the data for 13 fluids.

A modified two-dimensional van der Waals equation model was proposed for the prediction of multicomponent gas-solid adsorption isotherms from corresponding single-component adsorption equilibrium data. The model was used to predict adsorption isotherms of CO-CO2 mixtures and CO2-N2 mixtures on Cu(I)
