PMR and absorption spectra have been used to estabiish the structure of N~(r~)-~ut~~bione complexes in aqueous solutions -at various pH values. Equilibria exist between a few octabedra1 and square phnar complexes in soiution. At pH above I I the most stable complex is formed by the coordination of t

✦ Synopsis
iThe PMR, EPR and absorption spectroscopy methods have been used to propose the structure of Ni(II) and Cl&I)-Thr-Lys-Ala-Ala complexes formed in the aqueous solution over a broad pH range. i?he binding sites in tetrapeptide to both metal ions are shown to be the NH2-7&r, and three deprotonated nitrogens of peptide linkages. In the case of Ni(II) ions the cooperative interaction was observed.
