## Abstract Polyaniline (PAN), poly(__o__โ€bromoaniline) (POBA), and poly(anilineโ€__coโ€o__โ€bromoaniline) (PABA) were synthesized by oxidative coupling. These polymers are protonated by 10โ€“20% methane sulfonic acid (MSA) and 1__M__ HCl. The new polymer bases have greater solubility than that of PAN i

## Abstract Freeโ€radical copolymerizations of 1โ€vinylโ€2โ€pyrrolidone with 2โ€acrylamidoโ€2โ€methyl propane sulfonic acid at different feed ratios were investigated. The copolymers were characterized by ^1^Hโ€NMR, ^13^Cโ€NMR, and FTIR. The copolymer composition was determined from the elemental analysis.
