## Abstract Several pentaβ and hexaalkylated guanidiniumβbased ionic liquids (GILs) were tested as solvents for the epoxidation of cyclooctene using the Venturello catalyst, [(C~8~H~17~)~3~N(CH~3~)]~3~[PO~4~{WO(O~2~)~2~}~4~], and hydrogen peroxide as the oxidant. Epoxide yields were obtained in a b
