Halide-Silver Salt Method-&@'-Dichloro-di-(n-propyl )amhe Hydrochloride-Thionyl chloride (12 ml.) was slowly added to l,l'-iminodi-2-propanol (2 Gm.) with stirring and cooling until a homogeneous liquid was obtained. Then the excess thionyl chloride was distilled in vucuo and the residue was washed several times with chloroform and acetone. The salt that was obtained in 86% yield as white microcrystals melted a t 197-198".
