✦ Synopsis

The enzymatic synthesis of dodecyl. /?-o-glucopyranoside was studied by using the j?-glucosidase from

Candida molischiana 35M5N in the examination of trans&coJylation and hydrolysis reversion reactions. On account of cost considerations, the condensation reaction was optimized. The effects of the extraction solvent, the initial I-dodecanol and glucose concentrations, the temperature and the incubation

time were studied. The optimal conditions for the enzymatic synthesis of dodecyl. fl-D-glucopyranoside by the condensation reaction were: 90% (v/v) I-dodecanol initial concentration; glucose concentration (50 mM), temperature 40°C and reaction time 20 h.
