✦ Synopsis

2-Keto-3-deoxy-n-gluconate (KDG') was prepared from n-gluconate with a cell-free extract of Clost~idium pasteurianum containing gluconate dehydratase. This enzyme is present in gluconate-grown cells in high activity.
