โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

Poly(hexamethylene adipate) copolymers with 10โ€“40 molโ€% (in feed) of aliphatic diamines of various methylene chain lengths were prepared by melt polycondensation. In vitro degradation was performed in buffer solution at 37ยฐC with a lipase and was evaluated by weight loss of the films. The weight loss increased greatly by the copolymerization and showed a maximum at 10 molโ€% of comonomer content. Degradation also increased in a zigโ€zag fashion with decreasing number of methylene chains in the diamine comonomers. Both effects on the enzymatic degradation are discussed.

## Abstract The preโ€polymer poly(butโ€2โ€eneโ€1,4โ€diyl malonate) (PBM) and a series of PBMโ€based materials are shown to be degradable under physiological conditions in vitro and they are therefore presented as potential materials for biomedical applications. Four different PBMโ€based materials are synt
