Environmental policy has a long tradition of international cooperation, although while some countries encourage progressive environmental policies and others do not, the fear of international environmental policies falling to the lowest common denominator is a reality. Keith Clement discusses the efforts of Denmark to further the progression of European environmental policy, and finds that the environment, as with the economy, is an issue high on the public and political agenda.
