Ergonomics for the home
An introductory course will be held on 9th-1 lth July, 1973, at the Institute for Consumer Ergonomics, intended for members of staff in Colleges of Domestic Science and Home Economics, Architects and Designers and others interested in the home. The provisional programme includes lectures on: The work of the Institute of Consumer Ergonomics in relation to domestic ergonomics. Anthropometry and the housewife. Energy expenditure in the home. The thermal environment of the home. The problems of noise in the home. Lighting for the home. The disabled in the home. The use of subjective assessment in the evaluation of consumer products. Practical sessions will cover anthropometry, techniques of energy measurement, lighting measurement, measurement of the thermal environment, noise measurement, and evaluation of consumer products.
