Conclusions

One trouble ticketing tool is not enough for managing security incidents. This article described a client server model for incident management, but there are important differences between that type of tool and the workflow model of managing incidents. A customised version of the workflow model might cost three times as much as a turnkey solution. The workflow model also lacks a damage management system, something which is indispensable in incident management, especially in enterprise environments.
