โฆ Synopsis
THIS book is published at a time when the production of enriched uranium is on the decline, and reserves are sufficient to meet nuclear reactor and military requirements well into the foreseeable future. The technology associated with the handling of enriched uranium must however remain alive, particularly for the extensive reactor programmes in the U.S.A., and this book is intended as a valuable reference for specialists in this field.
The processing of enriched uranium does not differ chemically from that of natural uranium, although the operations are usually carried out on a smaller scale because of criticality considerations.
A large portion of this book deals with process chemical and metallurgical operations which are not new, and are exactly parallel to those available for natural uranium. Such processes have been discussed in great detail
