✦ Synopsis
Book reviews
marine and soil environments, controlled release of excipients from degradable matrices and the time-related degradation of temporary support devices for limbs and other applications. Seven papers consider degradation of di †erent polymers, including polyhydroxyalkanoates, poly(L-lactic acid) and poly(L-lactides), polyvinyl alcohol homo-and copolymers (by both aerobic and anaerobic degradation with some preferential biodegradation of isotactic moieties), and of proteinÈ starch plastics.
The remaining seven papers discuss use in biosensors, molecular recognition, and pH-sensitive swelling (and drugrelease properties) of chitosanÈpolyoxyethylene polymer networks.
This is a useful collection of contributions, of interest to those working in the Ðeld.
