Abstract

This article presented a low‐profile dipole antenna with enhanced ground immunity by using spin–spray‐deposited ferrite films. To reduce the mutual coupling between the antenna and the ground plane, Fe~3~O~4~–ferrite films were added below the dipole antenna. Novel dipole antennas with lossy Fe~3~O~4~–ferrite films loading were designed and analyzed. Under the condition of low profile of 2 mm, a good reflection coefficient of −24.6 dB was obtained when antennas were loaded with lossy ferrite films, which shows great promising for the antenna miniaturization in the modern wireless communication. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
