✦ Synopsis
Y(Bal.xCax)2Cu40 s (0<x_~<0.1) have been investigated by means of x-ray diffraction and electricalresistivity measurements. X-ray-diffraction patterns show that all samples contain the single YBa2Cu408 phase. Lattice parameters a, b and c decrease with the Ca concentration. Zero resistance temperature Too increases from 79 K at x=0 to 90.5 K at x=0.075, and then decreases to 88 K at x=0.1. These results can be interpreted that the Ca is doped on the Ba site which induces an internal pressure resulting in the charge transfer from Cu-O chains to Cut 2 planes and a significant enhancement of T c.
