The biological significance of phosphatidylcholine-specific phospholipase C (PC-PLC) in hepatocarcinogenesis and the proliferation and differentiation of rat liver cancer cells was investigated. The Ca 2+ -dependent activities of PC-PLC gradually increased during N-nitrosodiethylamine (DEN)-induced
