The specific heat ðCÞ of bi-layered manganites La 2 2 2x Sr 1 þ 2x Mn 2 O 7 (x ¼ 0:3 and 0.5) is investigated for the ground state of low temperature excitations. A T 3=2 dependent term in the low temperature specific heat (LTSH) is identified at zero magnetic field and suppressed by magnetic fields
