โฆ Synopsis
Abstrct-The energy release rate of dynamic delamination of plates is derived. The expression is given in terms ofjumps of the mechanical fields near the delamination front, and is essentially a form of dynamic energy momentum. Non-linear kinematics of von Karman plate theory are used, together with non-linear elastic material response. It is shown that under these kinematic assumptions the energy release rate for dynamic delamination is identical to the expression for static growth. Other plate kinematics can also be utilized following the present methodology, but at the expense of the simplicity of the present results.
