✦ Synopsis

The strain energy release rate for a crack at the interface of dissimilar isotropic materials was derived from an existing crack tip field. In the derivation, the J-integral along a special near tip contour was used. A single expression of the strain energy release rate corresponding to different definitions of stress intensity factors was obtained. The validity of the general expression was discussed.
