## Abstract The study was carried out in sodic lands of Sultanpur District, Uttar Pradesh, India. The barren soils and the soils supporting 3‐, 6‐ and 9‐year‐old plantations of __Prosopis juliflora__ (Swartz) D.C. and __Dalbergia sissoo__ Roxb. Ex. D.C. plantations were examined to assess the rate
