## Abstract Two new homologous series of semiflexible main‐chain polyesters on the basis of 4‐hydroxy‐and 4‐carboxycinnamic acid in conjugation with 2‐__tert__‐butylhydroquinone and alkylene spacers with 3 to 8 methylene groups were prepared by low‐temperature solution condensation. The thermotropi
