✦ Synopsis


Asymmetric polymers containing metal-chelating (S)-hydroxyproline groups in cross-linked polystyrene (I) and acrylamide (ll) matrices were used as catalysts for hydrolysis of or-amino acid esters. The hydrolysis catalysed by polymers I and II, complexed with Cu and Ni ions, displayed in many cases significant enantioselectivity. The values of activation parameters for hydrolysis of LeuOMe in the presence of polymer II in Ni form were calculated.
