✦ Synopsis
CD studies were performed on the enantiomeric recognition of chiral aralkyl ammonium salts 1-3 by chiral pyridino-18-crown-6 ligands 4 and 6. Heterochiral complexing was found to result in larger spectral effects in both the 1 L b and 1 L a band regions of the chiral crown ethers. Based on the results reported herein, CD spectroscopy can be an efficient tool for discriminating between enantiomeric chiral aralkyl ammonium salts and determining the stoichiometry and relative stability of their complexes with chiral pyridino-18-crown-6 ligands.
