Abstract
Our understanding of the importance of emotion in psychopathology, personality, and psychotherapy has been rapidly advancing. New findings from neuroscience support the centrality of emotion as a convergent force in shaping individuals and relationships. Emotionโfocused shortโterm psychotherapy capitalizes on the power of emotion to accelerate the course of treatment.
