Numerous lines were observed in the UV absorption spectra of O 2 doped in a low-temperature Ar crystal excited by a KrF excimer laser. These lines were assigned to the transitions from vibrationally excited levels of the ground state O (v" = 4-11) to vibrational levels of the B state (v' = 0-8), whe

โฆ Synopsis
Oxygen molecules diluted in a low-temperature Ar crystal were irradiated by an ArF excimer laser and the resultant emissions analyzed spectroscopically. Along with the A' 'AU +X 'Z; emissions, short-lived c 'Z; +a '4 emissions, particularly from the v' = 5 level. were observed. Non-radiative relaxation mechanisms are discussed.
