✦ Synopsis
IXED OR teratoid tumors of the liver are M rare.l A survey by Milman and Grayzel3 disclosed 27 cases-18 in children and 9 in adults-reported up to 1951. Only 2 of these, those reported by Sheehana and by Hartz and van der Sar,* contained striated muscle fibers. Sheehan's patient was a girl aged 6 years and Hartz's a girl aged 4 months. Since 1951 Williams@ reported a similar growth in a boy aged 2% years, and Pack and Miller: one in a boy aged 14. In this paper an embryonic tumor of the liver containing striated muscle fibers is reported in a man aged 35. This is believed to be the first such growth recorded in an adult.
