## Abstract In this article, a rectangular monopole ultra‐wideband antenna with dual band‐notched characteristic is proposed. The bandstop characteristic is produced by a new configuration of split ring resonators (SRRs). Being different from the conventional reverse split rings, this novel structu

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A series of ultra‐wideband antenna using an elliptically curved patch is investigated. The band‐notch feature is realized by cutting off a bended slot, which can be tuned. S~11~ is controllable by the length of the tunable slot. The antenna exhibits good omnidirectional performance across the operation bandwidth. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract By embedding a simple arc‐shaped slot in a circular‐disk monopole antenna, an ultra‐wideband (UWB, 3.1–10.6 GHz) operation with a controlled notched frequency band can be obtained. The arc‐shaped slot is placed close to the boundary of the circular‐disk monopole and has a length of abou
## Abstract A compact bandpass filter (BPF) embedded with 5.8 GHz wireless‐LAN notch is presented for 3.1–10.6 GHz ultra‐wideband (UWB) systems. The proposed UWB‐BPF based on a defect‐grounded structure is implemented with an FR4 board. Two open‐loop resonators on the top layer provide a narrow not
## Abstract In this article, the design and analysis of a CPW‐fed UWB antenna with dual band‐notched characteristics are presented. The measured bandwidth defined by VSWR <2 of the proposed antenna is from 2.8 to 11.7 GHz, except the bandwidths of 3.35–4.35 GHz for WiMAX and C‐band satellite commun
## Abstract A compact printed ultra‐wideband (UWB, 3.1–10.6 GHz) circular‐slot antenna with a notched frequency band at 5 GHz is presented. The antenna is a uniplanar structure and occupies a compact area of 25 × 26 mm^2^ only (the side length is less than 27% of the lower edge frequency at 3.1 GHz
