The positive parity spectrum of -"°Ne is calculated, using the Elliott classification as zero order scheme. Of the eight experimentally well known lowest levels five are successfully identified as belonging to the two lowest SU3 bands, which can be built with four particles in the sd shell. The other three levels are attributed to excitations of the core, which are described in terms of SU3 bands. The interpretation is then compared with the different conclusions of two recent theoretical works.
