In this paper, a method for the evaluation of boundary stresses directly from the BEM solution of elastostatic problems using the static boundary integral equation is presented. The technique is valid for corners and edges as well as smooth points on the boundary, and involves deยฎning a new interpol

โฆ Synopsis
The paper presents a new numerical method of the computation of stresses and displacements at internal points using boundary elements. The accuracy of the computation is reasonable even if the internal point is very close to the boundary. The numerical algorithm is developed for both the two-and threedimensional problems. The accuracy of the numerical computations based on the proposed method is illustrated in a test problem of 2-D elastostatics.

The paper deals with numerical integrations of singular integrals in BEMs. It is shown that from the point of view of numerical integrations, the only serious problem which can arise is due to weakly singular and nearly singular integrals. The applicability of a finite element-differential method to the computation of steady two-dimensional lowspeed, transonic and supersonic turbulent boundary-layer flows is investigated. The turbulence model chosen for the Reynolds shear stress and turbulent heat flux is the k-t. two-equation model.
