Book REVIEWS [j. F. I. tors of radiation and then amplifying and indicating instruments and the photometer on the telescope. This is followed by a section on photoelectric spectrophotornetry, and finally a fairly brief but useful section on electron image tubes.
No astronomer alive is qualified to write critically on all of the topics involved, but the general impression given by the volume is that it is excellent. The authors all write with authority and have obviously chosen their subtopics with discrimination. In addition to ample footnotes, four of the five chapters are followed by lists of general references. This volume belongs in every professional astronomical library.
