✦ Synopsis

THIS is the first volume of a surgical work by Professor Asita La1 Som and it contains sections on general surgery, abdominal surgery, and fractures and dislocations. The book is illustrated with some 465 drawings and 9 plates. Some of the drawings have been adapted with slight alterations from other well-known text-books on surgery. There are many mistakes in the text and a whole page of errata is included at the end of the book.

No doubt the next edition will improve on the text and illustrations. It seems curious that this book is available from the author at his private address in Calcutta; no publisher is mentioned.
