✦ Synopsis
A method for measuring the electrical conductivity of cylindrical discharge plasmas in dependence of temperature and of pressure with appreciable accuracy has been developed.
Results are given for T = lOOOO-. 12OOO OK and p = 10 a t and 20 at. Comparisons with calculations of Schirmer and Friedrich for partially ionized gases result in the proposal to cut off the interaction distance between charged particles a t a, = 2 D instead of a, = D, where D is the Debye shielding parameter. With regpect of the resulta the applicability of the Boltzmannequation and the Debye-Hiickel theory in the case of cold dense plasmas are discussed.
