## Abstract The electrochemical polymerization of 3‐methylthiophene was significantly facilitated by the presence of freshly distilled boron fluoride‐ethyl ether as supporting electrolyte and stainless steel as electrode during the polymerization. The lower oxidation potential of the monomer led to
