β¦ Synopsis
The adsorption and desorption of I-butene on platinized platinum electrodes have been studied at 70% in 0.5 M H1S04. The results show that I-butenc is dehydrogenated when adsorbed at 0.38 V rhe, with loss of six hydrogen atoms. Voltammetric measurements indicate that three electrons per adsorption site are required to strip off the surface. At saturation practically all the adsorbed intermediates are of CH-a type. The electrochemical data are coherent with six Pt sites being occupied by one llat adsorbed molecule.
