Reduction of aryl halides and electrofonnylation reactions have been studied in DMF on to a cadmium mod&d gold microckctrode. Ekctrochemical studies and clectrolysw of d&rent aryl halides point out that the formylation process implies reaction of the Ar-c&anion on the DMF. Interactions batwccn the ekctrodeposited cadmium and the reaction products arc demonstrated, and the inRucncc of the structure of the deposit is riiscw&.
