✦ Synopsis

The oxidation of methadone on carbon paste electrodes has been studied using voltammetric techniques under semi-infinite linear diffision and hydrodynamic conditions. A simple "in situ" electrode pretreatment is proposed to obtain a good reproducibility of the current signal. The diffusion coeflkient (0.19 x 10-s cm* s-l), the charge transfer coefficient @=0.30) and the charge transfer rate constant (K = 1.2 x 10-l' ems-') are reported. A mechanism involving two electrons and twd protons is proposed for methadone oxidation, which is in agreement with reported data concerning other aliphatic amines.

The electrooxidative behaviour of loprazolam on a carbon-paste electrode was studied in the pH range 3.0-10.5 in aqueous solution using differential pulse, sampled direct current and cyclic voltammetry. A single oxidation peak of irreversible nature was observed in this pH range. The oxidation peak
